KOAA Old Bent's Fort

Students from La Junta high school and Ontario junior college are virtually recreating Bent's Old Fort. They are building a 3D replica of the fort using the game mine craft. Not only are they learning how to use a 3D program, but they are learning the history of the fort. the Fort was an old Santa Fe Trail trading post. Once they finish creating the 3D replica, they can then share the experience of visiting the fort to people all over the world using virtual tour. this will also help spread the history of the fort.

Once they finish this project, they will move on to using Autocad, which is an architectural program. This will teach the students math and the basics of engineering and architecture. The students are very interested because they are using games that they are familiar with. here is the article
